Situated in the Marina Bay downtown district, Asia Square was envisioned as a lifestyle precinct contributing to Singapore’s stature as a major business and financial hub. The project, completed in collaboration with design architect Denton Corker Marshall, comprises a 300,000 sqm mixed-use development of commercial, hotel and retail housed within two elegant towers rising out of a 9,000 sqm public plaza located within a glass podium. The masterplan reinforces existing and future linkages with neighbouring sites, effectively integrating with and contributing to the urban fabric of the city.

Each tower is seemingly composed of a cluster of eight slender shafts that individually rise to varying heights to create a distinctive signature on the Singapore skyline. The façade of the towers comprises glass and metal panelling, granting uninterrupted views from within while producing a striking random patterned effect externally. Encapsulating the entire site is the glass podium, a singular, unifying element that fronts the street on all four faces, conceived as an ‘ice block’ floating above the ground.

Designed to strict environmental criteria, the project is the first commercial development to be awarded a Green Mark Platinum rating from Singapore’s Building and Construction Authority. Green features include Singapore's largest photovoltaic cell system installed on the roof of both towers, and the country's first downtown biodiesel generation plant for recycling waste cooking oil into biodiesel.
