LABS FOR THE FUTURE

As a global test bed for clean technology products and solutions, JTC CleanTech 3 was designed as an integrated work-play environment essential for advancing science and life, and a self-sustaining ecosystem that celebrates and is intimately connected to nature.

Respectful of the site’s topography, an existing creek and slopes were retained, and terracing gardens were seamlessly introduced into the existing landscape. The existing wildlife corridor was preserved and new ‘human’ corridors created, becoming the catalysts for movement across the site. The main corridor loop at lab level connects all blocks and overlooks the atrium, the heart of the project.

Start-ups, communal bridges, meeting rooms and lounges are organised along the main loop, while numerous flexible spaces across the site create environments for creativity, interaction and knowledge sharing.

The fragmented arrangement of the blocks allows for maximum daylight and natural breeze. Self-sustainability initiatives across the site include rainwater harvesting, rain gardens, drip irrigation, and use of local plant species.
