DESIGNED TO OPTIMISE
Our shortlisted design proposal sought to instil a strong sense of belonging, health and wellness in its users. The proposal set out to combine creative and forward-looking architecture that reflects the new office vision with sensitivity to existing conservation buildings and the overall context of the campus.
The proposal was for a smart building with features to optimise space productivity, allow for more automation, and optimise energy efficiency and cost savings through sustainable building design. A spacious drop-off provides a pleasant arrival experience right at the centre of the canopy that connects all the buildings.

A modular Design for Manufacturing (DfMA) approach was proposed, whereby building components could be prefabricated off-site and assembled on-site. The design was based on an optimum structural system with consistent configuration that would enable a high level of repetition to be achieved.
